Why is my Levoit Core 300 showing a red light?

My Levoit Core 300 purifier started showing a red light after only a few weeks of use and I am confused. The manual says it means the filter needs to be replaced but I thought it should last longer. I cleaned the room often and I do not have pets so I wonder if the sensor is wrong. The airflow feels weaker and I am not sure if the purifier is still working properly. Has anyone else had this issue with the red light coming on too soon and how did you fix it?

I had the same issue with my Core 300 and the red light came on after about a month. I checked the filter and it was already gray with dust even though the room looked clean. I replaced it and the light went off. I think the purifier is sensitive and catches more than we notice.

I think the red light is triggered by usage hours rather than actual filter condition. Mine came on after a set time even though the filter looked fine. I reset it by holding the button and it worked again. Later I replaced the filter when it was visibly dirty.

I use mine in a small bedroom and the red light showed up after six weeks. I replaced the filter and the airflow improved right away. The old filter was clogged even though I vacuum often. I think the purifier is doing its job but filters do not last long in dusty areas.

I had sinus problems and bought the Core 300 to help. The red light came on quickly and I thought it was broken. After cleaning the filter and resetting the light it worked fine again. I now keep spare filters ready because they do not last long in my apartment.

I think the red light is not a defect but a reminder. I replaced my filter and the purifier worked better. It is annoying but it keeps the air clean. The mini models need more frequent changes compared to larger purifiers.

I had mine in the living room and the red light came on after two weeks. I was surprised but when I checked the filter it was already dirty. Carpets and dust make filters clog faster. It is frustrating but it means the purifier is catching particles.

I think the red light is useful even if it feels too soon. I replaced my filter and the purifier worked better right away. The air smelled fresher and my allergies were less severe. It is better to change early than to wait too long.

I agree the reset trick helps.

I had mine for six months and the red light comes on every few weeks. I just reset it and keep using the same filter until it looks dirty. It saves money but you have to check the filter yourself. The light is just a reminder not a strict rule.

I use mine near the kitchen and the red light comes on fast because of cooking smoke. The filter gets dirty quickly. I now move it to the bedroom and it lasts longer. Placement makes a big difference in how often the light shows up.

I think spare filters are the best solution. I bought a pack and now I just replace them regularly. It is more cost but it keeps the air clean. The Core 300 is small so it needs more attention than bigger models.
